What is pressure calibration?

Pressure calibration is the process of comparing a pressure instrument’s output reading against a certified reference standard under controlled conditions and adjusting it so its readings stay within a defined tolerance. Accredited pressure calibration confirms that a gauge, transducer, transmitter, or switch reports the correct pressure, with results traceable to national standards through NIST.

Incoming pressure instruments are logged, inspected for damage, and matched to their calibration history.

Instruments are calibrated across multiple pressure set points against traceable reference standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should a torque wrench be calibrated?

A torque wrench should be calibrated at least once every 12 months, or after roughly 5,000 cycles — whichever comes first. Tools used in high-volume production, safety-critical assembly, or after any drop or overload should be recalibrated more frequently to stay within tolerance and maintain ISO 6789 compliance.
