The Exfo FVA-600 is a compact and rugged handheld variable attenuator designed for portability and ease of use in field applications. Unlike its benchtop counterparts, the FVA-600 is built for on-site testing of fiber optic links. Despite its compact size, it offers a high performance range, handling up to 24 dBm of optical power, making it suitable for various testing scenarios. Technicians can choose from three operating modes: absolute, relative, and power input, allowing for flexible attenuation control based on testing requirements. The FVA-600 features a backlit display for clear visibility in low-light environments and boasts a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery for extended operation in the field. An optional USB remote control capability allows for integration into automated test routines, streamlining workflow efficiency.
