Description
The Gamma Detector – Micro Analyst, also known as the BICRON RSO-5 Radiation Detector, is used to find gamma radiation. In many different contexts, radiation levels can be precisely measured. This detector will probably be useful to professionals who work in nuclear power plants, laboratories, and hospitals where radiation monitoring is crucial. The portability and small size of the BICRON RSO-5 make it useful in a variety of settings. The Bicron RSO-5 is an air-vented ion chamber instrument that detects and measures photons and beta radiation.
Specifications
– 0.1 to 100 mR/h of detection range
– Response to energy between 30 keV and 1.5 MeV
– 0-5000mR/hr as the range
– Radiation detected includes photons with energies ranging from 12 keV to 7 MeV for windows that are open, 25 keV to 7 MeV for windows that are closed, and 40 keV to 7 MeV through the side.
– Operating between -40°F and 140°F Humidity: 5% change in reading between 10% and 95% RH
– Geotropism: 2% of the full scale or less
– Visible and audible alarms to alert users to high radiation levels
– An adjustable, programmable alarm threshold
– Runs on two 9-volt batteries for extended use
– An internal organic scintillator detector that simulates tissue.
